"So, what can you build?"
"Anything."

The figure known as Grease Monkey ("GM" to their friends) appeared at Fix-It All-Tow - a small mechanic shop in Central City - only so long ago. Impressing the staff with xeir skill and offering a sob story about being thrown out of xeir home, xey quickly wormed their way in to a position in return for a place to stay at night. But in reality, Grease Monkey is none other than Gyu-hui Mae - the missing child of a murdered neuroengineer. On a quest to find the truth of xeir father's death, GM masquerades as a meta while digging deep in to what xey believe is a conspiracy. With a genius-level intellect, xey're certain xey can get to the bottom of things - but it's a shame xeir maturity isn't nearly as advanced, and that xeir experience is somewhat...lacking.
[+]COCKY
If everything seemed to come easily to you, you'd be a little confident in your own abilities, too. GM has rarely had anything be 'difficult' for them, and as such, has a rather high opinion of xemself and what xey are capable of. Sure, xey may not be able to get everything immediately, but given time and tools? Nothing is impossible. Even getting out of a bad situation. Clearly, xey can see all the problems, and xey've even got tech that helps them land on their feet!
[+]CURIOUS
How does this work? What about that? GM wants to know as much as xey can, about everything xey can. Maybe xey're not super interested in the history of rap, for example, but given the opportunity xey'll at least give things a cursory look before moving on. And with things that catch xeir interest? They're practically obsessive, examining it from as many angles as possible and trying to digest each and every part of it. Proverbially speaking.
[+]DRIVEN
When GM sets their mind to something, it's difficult to steer them away. No matter the difficulty, no matter the obstacles - none of those matter. GM doesn't think, xey *know* xey can accomplish anything, and because of that, xey don't tend to become overly frustrated when something immediately doesn't go xeir way. It just means a different approach is needed - and xey're generally willing to do whatever approach is needed.
[+]JOVIAL
It's hard to keep a good monkey down. Or at least, this particular one. GM is a rather positive creature, sometimes sarcastic and sassy but ultimately good-humored and not about to mock someone for the hell of it. Xey'd rather laugh with someone than directly at them - thoughxey're not above taunts and teases to get a reaction. It's all in good fun, however - for the most part.
[+]SPUNKY
Attitude - it's a thing. And GM has quite a bit of it. Xey're willing to go right in to the fray with only so much preparation, trusting in txeir own abilities (and luck, and intelligence, and...well, everything else about xem) to get out of trouble. And if xey are in trouble? Pfft, nothing that xey won't get over. There's very few things that can keep GM down for long.
[+]WHIMSICAL
Some people just wanna have fun. For all of GM's obsession with xeir father's death, it hasn't dampened xeir need for fun. And with so many things coming easy, xey tend to move on from subject to subject in a somewhat aimless and/or random manner. Almost selfish in their need to indulge their immediate needs, while it can be hard to predict what GM's focusing on at any given time (though something engineering-related is a good bet), you can almost be sure it's something that makes xem or someone else smile.
[+]IMMATURE
Xeir intellect may be advanced, but Gyu-hui is still a teenager who needs to, well. Grow up. Xey haven't the breadth of experience as many adults have in order to manage their emotions or see things in perspective. When GM feels things, xey tend to feel them Strongly and Intensely; it's not necessarily anything out of the ordinary, just a sign of their inexperience.

[+]CHILD PRODIGY
It was discovered that Gyu-hui was a prodigy early on in their life, specifically when it came to building and engineering. While not on the level of such figures as Tony Stark and the like...given time, further education, and a few other factors xey could certainly follow in their footsteps. As it is, GM has a knack for understanding how things work given a bit of time to study, to the effect of being able to replicate something along the lines with only so much trouble.
Xey are not perfect, mind; they can make mistakes. They can misunderstand a concept. Sometimes sometimes a puzzle piece is missing. But GM has a hunger to understand, and what's more, a drive to improve on what's already there.
[+]ENGINEERING
GM's passion. Xeir one true love. Xey're never more content than when xey're working with xeir hands building things, whether it be a Lego set or a car engine or trying to improve on the night-vision goggles xey picked up from that one guy who goes by 'Shopkeep'. GM personally adapted xeir father's technology to create xeir Monkey Suit and tends to be able to reverse-engineer almost anything so long as it follows standard scientific (read: not magic) principles.
Xey're far better at the physical design rather than the program, mind; GM can set up the basics of an interface, but cannot hack, and the more complicated the program the more likely there's a few problematic bugs. Give xem free access to a junkyard, however, and xey could slap together a working vehicle. (It may or may not be able to fly. It more than likely possesses some sort of simian reference.)
[+]JURY-RIGGING
While, given time and materials (and resources, and other such...) GM could likely live up to their claim of being able to build 'anything'...xey certainly, if nothing else, have a knack for creating things 'on the fly'. A veritable MacGyver, while it goes without saying that some tech is out of xeir grasp, they can jury-rig most common Earth tech in to doing what xey want it to do - if only temporarily, and obviously within reason. A calculator cannot suddenly be turned in to a phone - but a wrecked car can possibly be made to run a final mile or two, or, even better, blow up.

...'better' is obviously subject to opinion.

In general, parts can be salvaged in to impromptu weapons or tools, and things that are damaged can be made to limp along a little longer.
[+]PARKOUR
Gyu-hui enjoyed being active even at a young age; after xeir accident and the obtaining of xeir spinal brace, xey chose parkour as a way to both stay active and to relish in xeir regained freedom of movement. Over the years, GM has only improved xeir skills; while xey're not quite on the level of a professional traceur, xey're certainly above average for those xeir age, and what's more is xey honestly enjoy it. There's nothing like vaulting over obstacles in terms of exhilaration - unless, of course, you're trying out a new gadget. But you could always combine the two...
